Love Songs for Wednesday.
Love Songs for Wednesday
1. "Pretty Little Princess."
2. "I think it's the ears"
3. "My girl is so sweet."
Derivative influences?
Why, yes, I admit there are some similarities to our previous work "Love Songs for Friday".
"My girl is so sweet" recalls the blues influences of a Love Songs for Friday song "I've never had a dog like you before."
In Friday's song;
"I've never had a dog like you before, good dog!, good girrrrl!"
and Wednesday's song;
"My girl is so sweet, she's as sweet as sweet can be."
both employ brevity and a breezy counterpoint to get their point across.
However, song 2 of Love Songs for Wednesday "I think it's the ears" is a clear departure in our Dog Adoration Oeuvre.
In this playful analysis of Wednesday's genetic heritage;
"She's two parts chihuahua,
she's one part Jack Russell,
and one part pooooooooooodle,
I think it's the ears"
the 6/4 time is employed for maximum effect.
"Pretty Little Princess" is, it must be admitted, very similar to "Best Dog in the World" which was a popular hit of our previous work "Love Songs for Friday".
However, in "Pretty Little Princess" the chorus is "Woo, Woo!" as opposed to "Foo Foo".
